The Chickery DC – New Menu Alert
It’s Friday, and you’re probably thinking about two things: 1. what am I doing after work? 2. What’s for dinner?
Well, those are at least my two thoughts on a Friday! So, I’m gonna do you a favor and drop a gem today that might help in your decision-making: The Chickery released a new menu of tasty sandwiches, sides, and the yummy in-betweens. If you were a fan of their chicken sandwiches before, you’re about to become a groupie. If you’ve never tried their food before, you’re about to be put on and (I assume) making your plans to get there this weekend.
The Chickery has partnered with Top Chef contestant, Chef Spike Mendelsohn, to rebrand and create a menu that adds flair and taste to fast-casual dining. The new “The Chicky Bunch” menu is composed of some traditional favorites like The Chickery Classic and new creations like the CauliFire (pictured below) and The Blue Hot (pictured below).
Not only have their sandwiches gotten an upgrade but so have their sides, with additions like Mexican Street Corn and Poutine. A fun change has been the addition of a late night menu served from 9:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. that will feature Chicken Cones. Because who wouldn’t want fried chicken pieces tossed in sauce served in a to-go waffle cone after a night of drinking? Am-I-Rite?!
I was recently able to taste some items from the new menu and here are some of my favorites:
The Chickery DC New Menu Favorites
CauliFire – Battered and fried cauliflower with hot sauce, ranch dressing, lettuce, and tomato
The Blue Hot – Hot fried chicken, bleu cheese crumbles, pickles, lettuce, and ranch dressing
Mexican Street Corn
Nana’s Banana Pudding
“The Chickery has strived to be a leader in the fast-casual chicken segment since day one,” said The Chickery’s President, Kert Gennings. “We anticipate the rebranding and the collaboration with Chef Spike, who has a proven track record in the success of fast-casual concepts and unparalleled culinary expertise, to reignite The Chickery brand in Washington D.C. and beyond.”
I’m a fan of the reignited Chickery brand and hope you will be too. Check them out at the Dupont Circle location. For more info on The Chickery DC, make sure you check out my previous post HERE.
