Champagne is a staple at any New Years Eve celebration, and counting down the seconds until midnight wouldn’t be complete without a bubbly toast. So, if you’re having a house party, attending one, or just staying in, add some spice to your midnight toast with my 4 favorite champagne cocktails.
- Pomegranate Fizz – What you’ll need: bubbly, pomegranates and POM juice. Add a small handful of pomegranates in a flute, pour 5 0z of your bubbly and then add pomegranate juice to your liking.
- Grapefruit Sunrise – (Like a tequila sunrise…get it? 🙂 ) I tried a grapefruit and tequila cocktail once at a party (don’t really know exactly what was in it) and I’ve been hooked ever since. This recipe simply adds some bubbly and boom! A perfect (and strong) cocktail for your toast. What you’ll need: Grapefruit juice, tequila, champagne. Pour 1 0z of tequila and 5 oz of champagne in a flute. Add grapefruit juice, drink and enjoy.
- Sparkling Mojito – This recipe is inspired by the classic mojito mixed with a “mojito like” drink I had at Onieals in Soho. What you’ll need: A shaker, champagne, mint, lime, pineapple juice and white rum. In your shaker, muddle 2 mint leaves, add 1 oz rum, 5 oz champagne, juice from 1/2 a lime, and a splash of pineapple juice.
- Minty Berry – This recipe is taken from Today Food. What you’ll need: chopped strawberries, mint and bubbly. Smash 2 chopped strawberries and 2 mint leaves in the bottom of a flute, add champagne. Sounds refreshing right?
