On Wednesday, April 26, 2017, Macy’s Metro Center will be hosting a 10th Anniversary event for Passport DC with pastry chef Dana Herbert. And guess what?? You’re invited!
Celebrate The Start Of Passport DC With Chef Dana Herbert At Macy’s!
If you’re unfamiliar with Passport DC, it’s a month-long celebration that highlights Washington DC’s booming international diplomatic community and the many cultures DC celebrates because of it.
For the entire month of May (which is also International Cultural Awareness Month), 70 embassies and over 40 DC cultural institutions will hold events like embassy open houses, street festivals and more. It’s a really amazing way to take in the melting pot that is Washington DC. It also provides a chance to learn more about the different cultures we have right here in our backyard!
So, to kick-off this month-long celebration, Macy’s is throwing a fabulous event! They will have a number of embassy stations to visit, a sneak peek of Macy’s Spring fashion, and my favorite part, multicultural cuisine whipped up by world renowned chef, Dana Herbert!
Chef Dana Herbert, a member of Macy’s Culinary Council, is best known for winning the tv competition Cake Boss: Next Great Baker and has clientele like the queen herself, Oprah! Chef Herbert will be sharing his culinary secrets with us, and we’ll be able to taste a few of his famous dishes! Get ready to eat, drink and be entertained.
I can’t wait to attend! My favorite thing about DC is being able to have so many diverse options in dining. From some of the best latin food in Columbia Heights to amazing Chinese food in Chinatown, or the amazing Ethiopian food all over the city; DC is a cultural mecca. And next Wednesday at Macy’s, we’ll be able to go around the world, without ever leaving Washington DC!
Oh, and did I mention this event is FREE! Yes, boo. FREE!
All you have to do is register here: macyspassportdc2017.eventbrite.com Plus once you do, you’ll receive a $10 Macy’s gift card! #winning
I hope to see you there! It is definitely not an event to miss!
